IN JANUARY

THREE WISE MEN PARADE

On January 5th we usually work on the three wise men parade. Our cart, supplied by the Torremolinos corporation, is made to carry with our members sons.

ST. ANTON DAY

Every year on St. Anton day we met in our facilities to bless our pets.

Every people can join us to celebrate this day.

This building have a Saint Patron of animals figure, Saint Anton, located in a hermitage near the front door. This image made by José Dueñas sculptor, was given and blessed by the "Madre del Buen Consejo" church priest during an event in which were attending the Parque Animal chairwoman and many animals lovers.

We have another St. Anton figure created by Antonio Cortes, which is in the Parque Animal Restaurant at Los Romeros street 16th, in the Torremolinos fair esplanade. 

The St. Anton day is on January 17th but we try to celebrate this blessing on the nearest Sunday.

Following there are some pictures about the event we had on Sunday, January 18th in our facilities. It was a nice day and pets and their owners were very happy.

 

IN FEBRUARY

PARQUE ANIMAL RESTAURANT ANIVERSARY

In 16th week of february, due the Parque Animal Restaurant aniversary in the Torremolinos fair esplanade, we celebrated a party with any people that wanted to try a typical dish as in the previous aniversary (2008). We enjoyed of a dish of “cocido montañés” and a drink presented by Luis, who is managing our restaurant. This is a typical dish from the city he was born. It was nice and very funny.

IN MAY

MAY CROSSES

We celebrated a party in the Parque Animal restaurant to permit to our members and friends to join us and tell us any idea or doubt.

ADVERTISING CAMPAIGN

This campaign starts in may. The objetive is to advertise to the people about the problem that we face due many animals are abandoned during holidays time and the high temperatures it can be reach during summer which are dangerous for our pets.

IN SEPTEMBER

“SAN MIGUEL” FAIR AND “ROMERIA”

The fair and the “romería” party are celebrated on the same day as our patron saint day (St. Anton). On September 29th. In these days Parque Animal participates in the festivities with a cart decorated for this time and a lunch for members and friends. Everybody can visit us at the Parque Animal restaurant too which is near.

PETS COMPETITION

At the same date as “San Miguel” fair, we colaborated with a pets competition organizated by Torremolinos corporation. It is located in “La Nogalera” (Jesús Santos Rein street). It can be joined dogs, cats, parrots, bunnies, reptiles, guinea pigs... There are five awards: for the best young own, for the smartest pet, for the most original detail, for the most unusual pet and for the most sympathetic pet. Everybody can join us.

IN OCTOBER

WORLD ANIMAL DAY

In 1929 the 4th October was originally chosen for World Animal Day because it is the feast day of Francis of Assisi. In 1980 the pope, Juan Pablo II, declared him patron saint of animals and ecologists. From this moment pet blessing is celebrated in many countries.

Francis was born in Assisi, Italy, into a wealthy family in the year 1182, but was stripped of all their material wealth and devoted himself to serve and assist not only their peers but also to all living beings and all animals, those who considered children of God called "brothers" and as such felt that his life should be respected, their existence as they were a gift from the Creator, without which man could not survive. Francis felt a deep respect and admiration for all that was in the nature. He died on October 4 of 1226 and was canonized in the year 1228.

On October 4, World Animal Day in honor of St. Francis of Assisi Animal Park launches one of its awareness campaigns. With these campaigns we want to instil in people, love and respect these creatures that share this planet with us.

If you don't love them, respect them. You will be more human.

IN DECEMBER

CAMPAIGN ON CHRISTMAS GIFTS

In these dates you usually give MACOT, Animal Park conducts an information campaign with distribution of leaflets and talks in the media. AN ANIMAL IS NOT A TOY

BELEN

We installed a beautiful house in Bethlehem Animal Park so that everyone can go to visit him. In 2007 we won the 2nd prize in Belene contest organized by the municipality of Torremolinos.

THROUGHOUT THE YEAR

OUR SMALL WAY IN TELEVISION

Torremolinos Television graciously invited us to one of its magazines to discuss the issue of dropouts and many other topics. We always bring our visit to one of our animals for adoption or even for any show to try to locate lost animals to their owners when it has no chip.

Carmen Marín, president of the Animal Park, always prepares a different theme, both to guide the prospective adoptive parents to give advice on caring for our pets. In addition, everything about Animal Park is discussed in this program: services, events ...

It should be added our participation in other programs of local television stations from local residents and any other level program autonomous.

CHARLES IN SCHOOLS

These talks are that the little ones are instilled responsibility involved in caring for our beloved animals and above all, give them love and respect they deserve.

CASTRATION CAMPAIGN

Takes place throughout the year in communities, hotels and colonies of cats. Removed with a cage trap and marked with time served and the cut on the ear returned to their territory.

And most important of our activities, we made every day, 24 hours a day in work, receive alerts animals to collect in the street.
